A week later, though, it was lower after each of the last three: down 3.3% in August, 5.2% in September and 3.7% in October.<\/p>\n<p>The setup is already weak. Bitcoin trades at $76,160, down 5.1% in 24 hours, after Thursday\u2019s chip-stock sell-off dragged it from $80,918 to $75,208, its lowest since September 16. The Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index fell from 50 to 28 in a day.<\/p>\n<p>The jobs data also feeds straight into the Fed. Traders on <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/fed-decision-in-december-20260729232808632\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\">Polymarket<\/a> now price a 69% chance of a rate hike on December 9, down from 80% a day earlier.<\/p>\n<p>So what does Bitcoin usually do after a jobs report, and can it win back the 200-day line?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Market Intelligence: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/guides\/best-low-cap-crypto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Crypto Analyst Predicts Best Low-Cap Crypto<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-does-bitcoin-do-after-a-jobs-report\">What Does Bitcoin Do After a Jobs Report?<\/h2>\n<p>Not much to bet on the first day. The direction only starts to lean after a week, and only slightly.<\/p>\n<p>We measured BTC from the hourly candle of each 8:30 a.m. ET release on Binance, using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/bls\/news-release\/empsit.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bureau of Labor Statistics\u2019 release archive<\/a> for the dates. The October 2025 report, never published because of the government shutdown, is not included.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First hour:<\/strong> higher after 58 of 104 reports, with an average move of 0.66% either way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>24 hours:<\/strong> higher after 52, with a median move of +0.07%, and an average swing of 1.92% either way.<\/li>\n<li><strong>7 days:<\/strong> higher after 57, with a median gain of 0.67%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-448067\" src=\"https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-scaled.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-scaled.webp 2560w, https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-230x129.webp 230w, https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-1536x864.webp 1536w, https:\/\/www.coinspeaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/IMG_3084-2048x1152.webp 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This year broke into two halves. Bitcoin was higher a week after each of 2026\u2019s first seven jobs reports, by 0.5% to 7.6%. Then it fell after all three since August.<\/p>\n<p>One caveat: a week leaves room for other news to take over. What Does It Mean for Crypto?<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin News: Why This Jobs Report Matters for the Fed<\/h2>\n<p>Because the Fed is leaning toward a hike, not a cut. It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/pressreleases\/monetary20261028a.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">held rates at 3.75% to 4%<\/a> on October 28 in a 10\u20132 vote, and both dissenters wanted a quarter-point hike.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday\u2019s crash already cooled that bet. Kalshi\u2019s odds of a December hike dropped 10 points in a day, while a hold rose from 22% to 32%.<\/p>\n<p>A strong report would likely push hike odds back up. BTC sits about $380 under its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $76,540, a line it had held on every daily close since its August breakout.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Resistance:<\/strong> $76,540, the 200-day EMA, then $79,839, the 50-day EMA. Above that, $81,196, Wednesday\u2019s high.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support:<\/strong> $75,208, Thursday\u2019s low, then $74,968, the September 15 low.
