Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Out Now on PS Store, 2 PS5 Versions Available
The battle has officially begun. Activision’s 2026 tactical game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has officially landed on the PlayStation Store. This marks the franchise’s 23rd installment overall and the fourth and final entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series.
Developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, the standard version of the game is available for $69.99, featuring enhanced performance and optimization features built specifically for the PS5 Pro alongside the base PS5 console.
“War erupts on the Korean Peninsula as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilize the world. A young squad of South Korean soldiers fights to survive on the collapsing front lines, while half a world away a vengeful Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows as he stays one step ahead of those hunting him,” reads the official synopsis.

What to know about the PS5 versions, online play and features
Activision has announced that there are two main editions for the game: Standard and Vault Edition. The Standard Edition comes with the base game, which includes the single-player campaign mode, multiplayer, and a DMZ mode. The latter adds several bonus items at a premium price of $99.99.
The Vault Edition additionally includes the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, Special Forces Operator Pack, Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell, and a DMZ Deployment Bonus.
Multiplayer launches with 12 new 6v6 maps, alongside large-scale Ground War maps and smaller Gunfight arenas. Kill Block is a new map that reconfigures its layout between rounds and can produce more than 500 configurations.
DMZ is also included in the launch. In the extraction mode, players deploy solo or with a squad to recover military technology left behind by the war.
Online multiplayer requires a PlayStation Plus subscription, sold separately. Players will also require an Activision account, and additional storage may be needed for updates.
