A 19th century Chinoiserie Overmantel Mirror
Beneath a projecting cornice, a finely detailed frieze unfolds in gold tones across a warm ochre-brown ground. Tiered pagodas and small pavilions sit among trees and rocky outcrops, with a slender arched bridge linking the two sides of the landscape. Delicate bamboo sprays grace the uprights and lower rail, while trellis-patterned corner panels punctuate the frame. Stepped gilt mouldings surround the rectangular mirror plate, lending depth to the restrained architectural form.
