FREE Studying the Life of David, Part 2 – Christian Children’s Authors
Who do your preteens and teens go to when they need wisdom and direction? There are more options available to them today than any other time in history. We can often connect with family in real time regardless of our location. Friends include those we know in real life and those online we’ve never met. And there is no end to the number of ways we can find direction online, whether we reach out to a stranger or an artificial intelligence. How often do we turn to the Word of God? How quick are we to pray and ask God for His direction – not as a suggestion but as the authority we are to follow?
This resource leads preteens and teens through I Samuel 21-27 with activities that encourage them to carefully read and consider what God has to say. It looks at several events in the life of David including when he cut off part of Saul’s robe and when he was offended by Nabal and counseled by Abigail. It also explores the many times in I Samuel 23 when David sought God and asked Him what he was to do. The unit highlights the importance of listening to and obeying God as well as heeding wise counsel (such as from Abigail). These are truths we all need reminded of again and again.
The unit also includes activities such as memorizing key verses, summarizing what they have studied, and more.
